Interview with Carmen Dorado Luna – Exploring the Benefits of Facial Reflexology and Holistic Therapies

Q: One of the therapies you offer is facial reflexology. What makes this treatment so effective for your clients?

Carmen Dorado Luna: Facial reflexology is a non-invasive, relaxing treatment that works by stimulating reflex points on the face and scalp. These points correspond to different areas of the body and help improve circulation and energy flow. The benefits are not only cosmetic clients often notice a smoother, more toned appearance of their skin, but also experience a deep sense of relaxation and stress relief.

This therapy is particularly effective for individuals who struggle with tension in the face, jaw clenching, or those seeking natural solutions for enhancing their skin’s radiance. It can also help improve sleep, reduce anxiety, and relieve muscle tension. Many clients see visible improvements in their skin after just a few treatments, which makes it a popular choice for those looking for a natural, non-invasive way to rejuvenate their skin.

Q: Beyond improving skin health, what other benefits can clients experience from facial reflexology?

Carmen Dorado Luna: Many clients seek facial reflexology for its ability to reduce stress and anxiety. The therapy promotes deep relaxation, which can help improve sleep patterns, reduce anxiety levels, and boost mood. It’s also great for people who experience tension from jaw clenching or grinding teeth, as it helps relax the muscles in these areas.

For clients who suffer from conditions like trigeminal neuralgia or sinus congestion, facial reflexology can help relieve discomfort by improving blood flow and releasing tension in the facial muscles. It's a holistic treatment that can address both emotional and physical needs.

Q: You offer a variety of other therapies, including kinesiology, deep tissue massage, foot reflexology and aromatherapy massage. How do these therapies complement your holistic approach?

Carmen Dorado Luna: I offer a range of therapies designed to meet the specific needs of each individual. Deep tissue massage, for example, is excellent for those dealing with chronic pain, muscle aches, or tension. It helps improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote recovery. It's also beneficial for those with posture issues or conditions like sciatica. It supports overall muscle health and aids in relaxation, which can also improve sleep quality.

Aromatherapy massage combines the therapeutic properties of essential oils with the benefits of massage. Essential oils can address a variety of concerns, from relieving stress to enhancing energy or promoting restful sleep. For instance, lavender is great for calming, while peppermint can help relieve tension or headaches. By tailoring the oil blend to each client’s needs, I’m able to support their physical and emotional health more effectively.

Both therapies complement each other and work synergistically to relieve stress, enhance circulation, and promote overall wellness.

Foot reflexology is a complementary therapy widely recognised in the UK and is used in some NHS settings, particularly in palliative care and hospices, to promote relaxation and overall well-being. It is also increasingly recommended by healthcare professionals to support general health, reduce stress, and help manage certain symptoms. Reflexology can benefit individuals of all ages, including pregnant women and those undergoing chemotherapy, and is commonly sought to support emotional well-being, reduce anxiety, and help manage hormonal imbalances.

With over 20 years of experience in foot reflexology, I continue to be amazed by its positive impact on clients' lives.

When combined with other therapies, such as massage, reflexology works synergistically to reduce stress, improve circulation, and promote overall wellness.

Q: You also incorporate kinesiology into your practice. How does this therapy benefit your clients?

Carmen Dorado Luna: Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that uses muscle testing to understand the body’s imbalances. By testing muscles, we can assess nutritional, structural, emotional, and energy imbalances. The results allow me to make personalised recommendations to help clients address their specific health concerns, whether they are related to diet, emotional well-being, or lifestyle choices.

In my practice, I often integrate kinesiology techniques with other therapies, like massage or reflexology. This combined approach helps to ensure that the treatment is tailored to the client’s unique needs, making the session more comprehensive and beneficial.

Q: With such a wide range of therapies available, what advice would you offer to someone considering these treatments?

Carmen Dorado Luna: My advice would be to approach these therapies with an open mind and a willingness to invest in your own well-being. Holistic therapies can offer significant benefits for both the body and mind, and they’re a wonderful option for anyone looking for natural, non-invasive ways to support their health. As with any treatment, consistency is key, and results can often be seen after just a few sessions.

It’s important to find a therapist who understands your individual needs. I strive to create a personalised treatment plan for each client. If you’re ready to start your journey to better skin, reduced stress, and overall wellness, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

It’s truly rewarding to be part of my clients’ healing journeys. I believe in the power of holistic therapies to create positive changes, and I’m honoured to support people in achieving a healthier, more balanced life.

Patient testimonial

Here’s a testimonial from one of our patients about their experience with Carmen:

'I had the most transformative experience working with Carmen through Kinesiology. From the first session, I felt truly seen, heard, and supported. Her compassionate approach and deep understanding of both the mind and body made a dramatic difference in my well-being.

I came to Carmen looking for something new, and I left each session feeling lighter, clearer, and more in tune with myself. Her ability to gently guide me through the process, addressing emotional blocks and physical imbalances, was nothing short of remarkable. The shifts I’ve experienced—both mentally
and physically—have been profound, and I am so grateful for their skill, intuition, and kindness.

If you are looking for a practitioner who blends deep expertise with genuine care, I couldn’t recommend Carmen more highly.'
